These electronic pages cannot be reproduced in any format for profit or other presentation. ____________________________________________________________ IL6 JAMES WALTER McPHERSON was a native of Boone County born at or near Harrison, Arkansas in about 1893, the son of Sally McPherson Vinson. His father died or left the family when he was young. He learned the trade of surveyor and timberman. He was a veteran of World War I and had been in forest service prior to entering the army. After leaving the army he went back into forestry work and was stationed at the Ranger Station between Lurton and Jasper, Arkansas. When he was sent to Okay, Arkansas, in Pope County to mark government timber for sale, he met Eathel Person, a native of Van Buren County. They were married July 31, 1921. She lived 11 months after their marriage. He returned to Harrison and remarried but only lived with his second wife a short time. He never settled in any one place for long. At the age of 58 on July 12, 1951 he died of leukemia. Interment was near Harrison. He was a member of the Harrison Post of the American Legion and was a Mason. His mother survived him.
