These electronic pages cannot be reproduced in any format for profit or other presentation. ____________________________________________________________ C9 JOHN RAYMOND PERSON third son of John Andrew and Bertha Armour Person born December 27, 1917 on White Oak mountain in Van Buren County, Arkansas. His brothers and sisters named him for a neighbor boy, Raymond Campbell. He attended school at New Hope and Austin schools. His family moved to Carden Bottom January, l925. He then attended school at New Hall and Carden Bottom High School for two years. In 1936, when the great drive was on to move westward and the aftermath of the great Depression was pending, he drove the John Broadstock family car to California. While there, he lived with John and Parthenia Broadstock and their children at Winton. He returned to Arkansas and married Nina Bullard on September 25, 1937 and they returned to California to live. On October 24, 1938 Carol Jean Person was born in a Merced hospital. Soon after her birth they moved back to Arkansas and lived near James and Floy Person at Pontoon. Raymond was turned down by the Armed Forces during World War II because of health disability. In 1942 he and his family moved to Chicago to work. There Carol Jean attended grade school. January 1, 1969 Raymond and Nina separated. He lived with his parents in Arkansas until he married Lois Freeman Morrison ( Tommy). They moved to Chicago and Peggy Sue Person was born April 19, 1950 in Cook County, Chicago, Illinois. Raymond and Tommy joined the Presbyterian Church. He joined the Masonic (Compass) Lodge #922 and they both joined the Order of the Eastern Star. Raymond and Lois "Tommy" separated about 1963 and he married Helen Curtis Black in 1965. Carol Jean Person lived with her Uncle James and Aunt Floy Person. She attended high school in Carden Bottom and graduated from Arkansas Polytechnic College in Russellville. Peggy Sue Person lives in Chicago in 1968.
