She was the daughter of B8- John Andrew Person and C1 Bertha Mae Armour Person. She was the youngest of seven children and was named for both parents. She attended school in Garden Bottom until her family moved to Riverside in 1944. She finished Dardanelle High School June l, 1945. She entered Arkansas Polytechnic College in Russellville September 10, 1945 and finished two years of college work there May 25, 1947. She worked part time at the college and made many friends among her fellow classmates. She was trained in stenographic work and worked at the Gardner Clinic for eye, ear, nose and throat complications from April 1947 to October 1951. She was employed at the Arkansas Tech's Registrar's office from January 1952 until December 1952. She left Arkansas and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma January 4, 1953. She was employed a short time in Little Rock for Olin Mathieson Chemical Corporation before leaving Arkansas. She was employed by D-X Sunray Oil Company in Tulsa from January, 1953 until January, 1958. She met Faye Ferris in Tulsa where he was living with a sister and her family. They were married October 22, 1953 at the Grace Lutheran Church, 2331 E. 5th Place, Tulsa, by the Rev. Clarence Knippa. They had issue of two children born by Caesarean births at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa. D1B- John David Ferris was born September 15, 1958 and D18- Patricia Ann Ferris was born March 15, 1961. After the birth of her children she kept nursery age children for a salary. The family attends the Methodist Church in 1968 which is near their home at 3505 South Indianapolis in Tulsa. She joined the Order of the Eastern Star in Tulsa but was initiated at Council Oaks Chapter #589 in Dardanelle, Arkansas. Her sister, Orra Person Ragsdale, Worthy Matron, and her brother, James Person, Worthy Patron, acted in her initiation on January 2, 1965.
