He was the son of Ehrman Lee Ferris (1890-1965) and Blanche Carver Ferris born in 1895 and still living in 1966. He graduated from Centuria High School in Centuria, Wisconsin in 1941. His brother, Francis Ferris (1921-1938) was killed while operating a farm combine. His sisters are Margaret Leona Ferris Hendrickson b 1915, Maxine Lenabell Ferris Metcalfe b 1917, Helen Agnes Ferris McNeil b 1918, Elizabeth Ardelle Ferris Dopp born 1926. He served in the Merchant Marines from 1943 to 1946 and was stationed outside of New York. He worked on a dairy farm in Clayton, Wisconsin from 1946 to 1950. He moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he was employed at the Texaco Refinery in November, 1950 and is still there at the present time in 1966. He met Johnie Mae Person from Dardanelle in Tulsa and they were married October 22, 1953. Two children were born to this couple. John David Ferris was born September 15, 1958 and Patricia Ann Ferris was born March 15, 1961. They presently own their home at 3505 S. Indianapolis Street in Tulsa. Faye has a noted ancestor in his mother's line - an English leader, John Carver, born about 1576. He was elected Governor of Plymouth Colony on the Mayflower voyage across the Atlantic Ocean.
