She is the daughter of Raymond and Nina Bullard Person. The family moved to Arkansas in1939 and in 1942 they moved to Chicago where Carol Jean attended grade school. Her parents separated in 1949 and Carol Jean moved to Arkansas to live with her Uncle and Aunt James and Floy Person. She finished high school in Carden Bottom in 1956. She entered Arkansas Polytechnic College where she finished her four years in May, 1959. She and Raymond Rentfro (also a Tech student) went to Chicago to find employment. On October 24, 1959 they were married in Calvary Methodist Church in Cicero, Illinois, by Rev. Frank Palm. February 1, 1964 James Scott Rentfro was born in Cicero, Cook County, Illinois. Carol Jean joined the Methodist Church in Dardanelle in 1955. March 1962 she and Raymond joined the Eastern Star in Chicago. They bought a home in Russellville in 1965. Now in 1968 Carol is employed in the Russellville public schools and Raymond is employed in the Morrilton vocational school.
