July 1827 in Germany/Prussia, he left Antwerp August 1857 and arrived with #1 wife Anna Wolff at the Port of NY Sept. 17, 1857, when they left Germany/Prussia, they had young son Josef Stauss B. 1857 in Germany. Carl and Gertrude Wolff ages 52 and 59, Gertrude Wolff being 59, were with Vincent Stauss and Anna Stauss. Anna Stauss died after 1865 and Vincent Stauss is found in Davenport, Scott Co., Iowa obtaining marriage license, no marriage record has ever been found. Vincent and Eve (Rapp) Stauss stayed in Davenport, Scott Co., Iowa in the Buffalo area for a few years, had first child Ottelia "Delia" Stauss B. 1869 in Iowa, then they left and went to Marysville, Marshall Co., Kansas~~where Vincent may have joined up with an older brother by the name of Gustave or Arndst Gustave or A.G. Stauss who lived there first. Gustave Stauss had been born in Germany in 1825 and came to the U. S. in 1855 only two years before Vincent. In 1870 Census in Kansas Vincent Stauss is found under the spelling in the Kansas Census Index as Winsan Starss. In his household at that time was he and his wife Eve and children, Mary Stauss b. 1859 daughter of Vincent and #1 wife Anna Wolff Stauss, Peter Wolff Stauss B. 1862, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Stauss B. 1864 and Franklin Joseph Stauss B. 1865....and also his children by #2 wife EVE Rapp Stauss.....Ottelia "Delia" Stauss, Paul Stauss, Joseph Stauss and then the family moved back to Davenport, Scott Co., Iowa the Buffalo Community and Agnes Stauss was B. 1876. Vincent Stauss then sold his land and the family moved to Paris, Logan Co., Ark. where they made their home until they died. This is only a brief display of the research made on this family. Vincent and Eve Stauss are both buried at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Paris, Logan Co., Arkansas. The grave or whereabouts of #1 wife Anna Wolff Stauss has never been located. Graves or death records for Peter Wolff/Carl Wolff who came on ship with Vincent and Anna and Gertrude Wolff was in Vincent Stauss's household in 1870 in Kansas and age 65.
