JUDGE WILLIAM TRIMBLE.

  Judge Trimble was born in Kentucky about 1797. In 1825 he was commissioned as one of
the territorial judges for Arkansas by John Quincy Adams. He was well educated and gifted
with charming conversational powers; was a good lawyer, an upright judge, and an ornament
to the government he served. In 1831 he was elected to the territorial house of
representatives from Hempstead county, and was by that body elected speaker of the house.
