All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** Mr. Armstrong was born on a farm 10 miles north of Forrest City, the son of J. R. and Delia (Snowden) Armstrong. He attended the New Castle Elementary School in this county, and graduated high school from the Arkansas State College Academy in Jonesboro, Arkansas, in 1925. In 1935 he received his B. S. Degree from Arkansas State College. On Oct. 4, 1929 he married Miss Louise Devereux, daughter of S. A. and Hugh Ella (Hamilton) Devereux of Forrest City, and to this union had been born two children. Mr. Armstrong is active in most welfare organizations of the county, being on a committee of the County TB Association, Salvation Army and the County Infantile Paralysis Organization. The article mentions many other accomplishments. Since 1933, he has scrupulously discharged the duties of St. Francis County School Supervisor.
