Grobmyer, born Aug. 6, 1889, came to Forrest City with his mother to join Mr. Grobmyer. He studied at the local Catholic School, the Crowley Ridge Institute and then Christian Brothers College in Memphis. In 1925 he opened the City Grocery & Market on Rosser St., with his father as a partner; however, when his father passed away in 1931, he consolidated the two businesses on the Washington location as Grobmyer Market & Grocery. In 1909, he married Miss Nannie Evans, daughter of William P. and Daisy (Nash) Evans. Mrs. Grobmyer's grandparents, John A. and Annie (Howard) Evans, were early settlers of this county.
