ALMA MYERS 4/5/1886-6/2/1967 HUGHES Cemetery OBIT 6/5/1967 Mrs. Alma Batts Dies; Services Held SundayFuneral services for Mrs. Alma Batts, 81, who died Friday afternoon in a Malvern hospital, were held at 2 p. m. Sunday in Stevens Funeral Home. Rev. W. O. Hoover of Malvern and Rev. J William Watson conducted the services. Burial was in Hughes Cemetery. Mrs. Batts was born in Corinth, Miss., April 5, 1886, the daughter of Mrs. Miranda Pipkin Myers and Leslie C. Myers Sr. She was a member of the First Methodist Church here. She had lived in and around Forrest City for over 30 years and in Memphis before moving to Malvern 10 years ago to live with her son. Her husband, J. J. Batts, whom she married in 1903, died in 1927. Mrs. Batts had been in failing health for several years and hospitalized for eight days. Survivors include two sons, of Memphis; a daughter, Mrs. Alice Brady of Memphis; a brother, and a twin sister, both of Forrest City; 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grand children and 4 great-great- grandchildren.
