Jan 13, 1966-Services Held In City Today For Mr. Dennis.
Funeral services for Charles W. Dennis, 74, who died Thursday at his home in
Chicago, were held at 2 p. m. today at Stevens Funeral Home. Services were
conducted by Rev. J. William Watson. Burial followed at Forrest Park Cemetery.
Mr. Dennis, a member of a pioneer Forrest City family, was born here on April
26, 1891, and was the son of Rosa G. Beazley and Hal W. Dennis. He made his home
here unitl moving to Chicago over 50 years ago. He had been in poor health for
some time prior to his death. A Methodist, he founded the Viking Pump Company in
Chicago and was active in this business until his retirement several years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hazel Kahn Dennis of Chicago, one son, LIVING
of Cedar Falls, Iowa; one brother, Norman Dennis (d. 1980) of Palestine; three
sisters, 2 LIVING, both of Forrest City, and LIVING of Memphis; and two
grandchildren.
