BARNISHAW Cemetery

Mr. John F. Ellis, age 87, of Colt died at 4: 50 p. m. Thursday July 25, 1985 at
Baptist Hospital--Forest City. He had been in poor health for the last 10
months. He was born October 22, 1898 in Pine Tree, a son of Joseph and Ella
Surrett Ellis. He made his home in St. Francis County all of his life, and was
owner and operator of Ellis Grocery. In 1937, he married Living who survives
him. He was a member of Pine Tree Baptist Church. Survivors include his son,
Living of Memphis; two brothers, Living of Wynne and Living of Colt; two
grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held
Sunday July 28, 1985 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lovel
officiating, assisted by Rev. Floyd Cowan. Burial followed in Barnishaw Cemetery
with Stevens Funeral Home in charge.
