USNR WWII-NATIVE PEEVEY, RAY MYRTIS 4/21/1919-4/3/1972 HUGHES Cemetery Age 52-4/3/1972: Myrtis or Mirtie Peevey= Myrtis Peevey, 52, of Brownsville, Tenn., and Colt, died Monday morning in Brownsville suddenly and unexpectedly from a heart attack while at work. He was born April 21, 1919 in Colt and was the son of Mary Vinson Peevey and Luther Benton Peevey. He had lived also at Memphis and had moved to Brownsville about four years ago. He was manager of English Discount Store in Brownsville, a veteran of World War II, a member of the Colt Methodist Church, a member of the VFW and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. He also leaves one son, Phillip Ray Peevey of Memphis; one brother, Luther Peevey, Jr., of California; four sisters, Mr. s Rena Armatrong of Colt, Mrs. Ernest Nelson of Jonesboro, Miss Lorhea Peevey of Little Rock and Mrs. Marvin Williams of North Little Rock and four grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Peevey will be held at Stevens Funeral Home at 10: 30 a. m. Wednesday with the Rev. Berlon Davis in charge of services. Burial will follow in the Hughes Cemetery.
