LULA McCLAIN 12/3/1893-9/3/1974 FPARK Cemetery-GRACELAND Section Mrs. Lula McLain Powers, age 80, of 328 North Worthington in West Memphis, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly late Tuesday night at her residence from a heart attack. Mrs. Powers was born December 3, 1893 in St. Francis County, and was the daughter of Mrs. Lottie Steppe McLain and Mr. John McLain. She had lived in Forrest City for many years before moving to West Memphis twelve years ago. Mrs. Powers was a housewife, and a Baptist. Mrs. Powers was married to Mr. J. W. Powers in 1917. He preceeded her in death in 1969. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. L. E. Haislip of Midway, Texas and Mrs. R. E. Bunch of West Memphis, Arkansas. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Katie Tipton of Forrest City, eight grandchildren, and seventeen great grand-children. Funeral services for Mrs. Powers will be held at Stevens Funeral Home, 2: 00 p. m. Friday, September 6, 1974 with the Rev. Tommy Hinson in charge of services.
