JAMES EDWARD ABBOTT
2 23 1912-2 9 1993

James Edward Abbott of Cottonwood Point MO, died Feb. 9, 1993. He was 80. He was born Feb.
23, 1912 in Cottonwood Point to Vernie Potter Abbot and Jessie Abbott. He worked as a
pilot for Taylor Brothers Ferry and was a member of the Cottonwood Point Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Mrs. Morine Abbott of Cottonwood Point MO; one son, Don Abbott,
Crawfordsville; his mother Mrs. Vernie Abbott, Hayti MO; two granddaughters, Vicky Nix,
Memphis and Donna Higgins, Atlanta GA; one brother, Joe Abbott, Caruthersville MO and one
sister, Ida Mae Clark, Cottonwood Point MO. Funeral services were held at 1 pm Friday Feb
12, 1993 at the Cottonwood Point Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Hollingsworth
officiating. Burial was in the Maple Cemetery in Caruthersville MO.
