Mr. Wayne C Grommet of Brinkley died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1993. He was 70. Mr. Grommet was
born Aug. 19, 1922, in Belleville, Ill. He was a retired Quality Control Supervisor for
Wagner & Howard Industries of Brinkley. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran. Mr.
Grommet was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Brinkley and the Claude Sims
American Legion Post #68. He is survived by his wife, Iris Mahoney Grommet of Brinkley;
two sons, Wayne M Grommet of Jonesboro and Allen N Grommet of Forrest City; a daughter,
Judith Stokes of Brinkley; four brothers, Robert Grommet of Manchester, MO, Bill Grommet
of Wichita, Ka., David Grommet of Maplewood, MO and John Grommet of Rolla, MO; and four
grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Friday, Jan. 15 at the First United
Methodist Church in Brinkley with the Rev. Vaughn Marsden officiating. Burial will follow
in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Brinkley under the direction of Bob Neal and Sons Funeral Home
in Brinkley. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Bob Neal and Sons Funeral Home
Chapel in Brinkley.
