John W Gwathney

Mr. John W Gwathney of Palestine died Tuesday, Jan 26, 1993, at Crestpark Nursing Home. He
was 76. Mr. Gwathney was born Oct. 30, 1916, in Goodwin, to Ollie Green Gwathney and Katie
Taylor Gwathney. He lived in the Palestine-Goodwin area most all of his life. He was a
veteran of World War II and a member of the Salem Methodist Church. He leaves two nieces,
Sharon D Harper of Memphis and Katie May Williford of Little Rock; and a nephew, William C
Gwathney Jr. of Birmingham, Ala. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan 28, at 2 pm
at Salem Methodist Church with the Rev. Carl Reeves officiating. Burial will be in Goodwin
Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
