All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** FRED EDISON HALSTEAD 5 3 1913-5 6 1993 Mr. Fred Edison Halstead of Wynne died Thursday, May 6, 1993 at St Bernard’s Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was 80. Mr. Halstead was born May 3, 1913 in St Albans, WV, the son of Albert Thomas Halstead and Kitty May Trowbridge Halstead. He was an inventor, engineer and co-founder of Halstead Industries, Inc. He was a former member of the Girl Scouts of America, the Wynne Chamber of Commerce, The Arkansas Chamber of Commerce, the Good Sam Club and the Family Motor Coach association. He served in the National Guard in West Virginia and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He leaves his wife, Florence Lucille Braunbeck Halstead of the home; a son, Jerry Edward Halstead of Asheville, NC; a daughter, Diana Lee Halstead Jones of Wynne; two brothers, L.T. Halstead and O. Wendell Halstead, both of St Albans; five sisters, Lillian Bell Lippencott and Nellie Mae Rogers, both of West Virginia, Katheryne P Andrews of Texas, Mildred McNealy of Oregon and Margeurite Cunnington of California; and five grandchildren, including Dana Lynn Jones, Qualls and Dawn Denyse Jones, both of Wynne. Funeral services were held today, May 10 at 11 am at Kernodle Funeral Home Chapel in Wynne with the Rev Brian Danese officiating. Burial followed in Crosslawn Cemetery under the direction of Kernodle Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, the Cross Country Library or the Cross Country Hospital.
