All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** MARVIN B MARLAR 3 15 1920-4 12 1993 Mr Marvin B Marlar of Forrest City died Monday, April 12, 1993, at a Memphis hospital after a long illness. He was 73. Mr. Marlar was born March 15, 1920 in Birmingham, Ala, the son of James Daniel Marlar and Helen Jones Marlar. He was a retired machinist from Eaton Corporation and a veteran of World War II, 12th Armor Division, Company B, 494 Battalion, serving in the Tank Battalion. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Forrest City. He leaves his wife, Leta Pearl Marlar of the home; a son, James David Marlar of Maricopa, Ariz; two daughters, Janette Rice of Malvern and LaWanda Little of Salem, Ore; two brothers, Pat Marlar of Cabot; five sisters, Rosine Holyfield of Barling, Ark, Annis Wheeler of Russelville, Murtry Goff of Witchita, Kan, Ruby Parker of Grayville, ILL, and Nellie Kimbrough of Batesville; and 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 14 at 2 pm at First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Harold Powell officiating, assisted by Bro. Will Dearman of Little Rock. Burial will follow at Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.
