JOHN ADKIN PATTON
(b.1893 d.Feb. 19, 1993)

Rev. John Adkin Patton of West Memphis, formerly of Forrest City, died Friday, Feb. 19,
1993 at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis. Rev. Patton was born in 1893. He had
pastored several churches in Arkansas, including serving 27 years at Mount Calvary M.B.
Church in Forrest City. He leaves five daughters, Vera Denton and Zenobia Graham, both of
West Memphis, Naomi Powell of Hughes, Veo Few of Benton harbor, Mich. and Mamie Williams
of Chicago; a sister, Mattie Bailey of Marvell; a step-daughter, Birdie Mae Wilburn of
Forrest City; and 26 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 12 great great
grandchildren. Visitation will be held Saturday, Feb 27 at 11 am at Rising Sun M.B. Church
in Hughes. Funeral services will follow at the church at noon. Burial will be in Paradise
Gardens Cemetery in Edmonson under the direction of Anthony’s Funeral Home of West
Memphis.
