JOSEPH DOYLE WALTER
3 8 1915-5 6 1993

Mr Joseph Doyle Walter of Colt died Thursday, May 6, 1993 at Crestpark Skilled Care in
Wynne. He was 77. Mr. Walter was born March 8, 1915 in Rosebud, Ark, the son of William
Walter and Lena Mae Hill Walter. He was a Church of God minister for 45 years, retiring in
1975. He pastored the Sharpe’s Chapel Church of God in Wynne and the Forrest City Church
of God. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Charles Dwayne Fisher in 1992. He leaves
two sons, Doyce Earl Walter of Cocoa, Fla and Larry Doyle Walter of Collinwood, TN; two
daughters, Marie Fisher and Gina Caudell, both of Wynne; the children’s mother, Leeda
Walter of Wynne; a brother, Marvin Walter of California; and 14 grandchildren and 22 great
grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, may 8 at 4 pm at Kernodle Funeral Home
Chapel in Wynne with the Rev. William Witcher officiating. Burial followed in Crossland
Cemetery under the direction of Kernodle Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Cross
County Library in Wynne.
