Mrs. Endia Ward of Palestine died Monday, May 3, 1993. She was 84. Mrs. Ward was born
March 4, 1909 in Gill. She was preceded in death by five children. She leaves her parents,
Martha Coleman and Charlie Waits; four sons, Delena Ward of Hampton, VA, Charlie and
Marvin Ward, both of Missouri City, and Verlin Ward of Forrest City; 10 daughters, Minnie
Dawson and Eddie M Hawkins, both of Palestine, Addie L Smith of Detroit, Sarah M Ward of
Hammond, Ind, Christine Powell of Chicago, Patsie J Simpson of Racine, Wisc, Barbara D
Harris of Chicago, Edith K. Holmes of Memphis, Nancy M Young of Radcliff, KY and Muriel
Young of Fayetteville, NC; and 58 grandchildren, 83 great grandchildren and three great
great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 8 from 10:30 am until noon.
Funeral services will be Sunday, May 9 at 1 pm at the Antioch M.B. Church in Palestine.
Burial will follow in West Cemetery under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.
