He was 51. Mr Watlington was born March 2, 1942 in Wynne to Robert Lee Watlington and Ethel Mae Luker Watlington. He was a service station attendant for the Arkansas Highway Department, retiring in 1992 due to health reasons after 10 years of employment. He was a member of the Crossroads Original Church of Gold in Colt. He leaves his wife, Nelmer Dean Pate Watlington; five sons, Robert Leon Watlington Jr and Paul Eugene Watlington, both of Colt, Ronald Dean Watlington of Forrest City, Daniel Ray Watlington of Denton, TX and Kenneth Lee Watlington of Pocahontas; a daughter, Angela Rena Watlington of Colt; seven brothers, Rufus Watlington of Little Rock and Dallas, Claude, Thomas Joe, Curtis, Herbert and Herman Watlington, all of Colt; six sisters, Mattie Bell Baskin of West Memphis, Helen Collins of Wynne, Annette Bowman of Bald Knob, Lorrie Smith of Colt, Mary Ruth Evans and Beulah Smith, both of Washington; and nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Crossroads Original Church of God Saturday, April 3, at 2 pm with the Rev. Roger Smith officiating. Kernodle Funeral Home of Wynne is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the church at Rt. 1 Box 151A, Colt.
