Robert Darden, age 82, of Widener, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, at Crestpark
Retirement Inn Skilled of Forrest City. He was born in Tallehasse, Miss. and was
a retired farmer. He is survived by six sons, Willie Thompson and Tommy
Thompson, both of Widener, Louis Thompson of Madison, Walter Thompson of St.
Louis, Mo., Freddie Thompson of Houston, Texas and Stanley Thompson of Widener;
six daughters, Dorothy Rucker and Erma Wonsley, both of St. Louis, Mo., Sharann
Hill and Patricia Brown both of Jonesboro, Janet Davis and Lucynthia Johnson,
both of Widener; one sister, Louise Sykes of East St. Louis, Ill. and a friend,
Alice Thompson of Widener; many grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at 1 p. m. at Clay Funeral
Home with Rev. Louis Thompson officiating with burial following in Whitmore
Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, from 9: 30 a. m. until
1 p. m. at Clay Funeral Home.
