James Edward "Ed" Hislip, 84, died Saturday, April 3, in his home. He was a
resident of Lee County and a retired farmer. He also was a member of the Church
of Christ and a veteran of the U. S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Virginia
Braswell Hislip of Marianna; one daughter, Judy Pat Stowers of Marianna; three
sons, Junior Densmore and Johnny Densmore, both of Marianna and Billy Densmore
of Stanton, VA; one brother, Henry H. Hislip of Buford, GA; eight grandchildren
and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 6, at
Roller-Citizens Chapel in Marianna at 2 p. m. with Rev. Brad Brumley
officiating. Burial followed at LaGrange Cemetery. Pallbearers were the American
Legion Post No. 5 Arrangements were handled by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home.
