He was a resident of Lee County and a Veteran of World War II. He also was a member of Pilgrim M. B. Church, where he was Sunday School teacher, President of Church Choir, Church Treasurer, Chairman of Deacon Board and a Mason. He is survived by two daughters, Aonie Mae Harris of Riverside, CA. and Alice Ward of Marianna; four sisters, Daisy Bell Lacey, Mary Lillie Jacobs, Nannie Henderson and Lula Bell Lewis, all of Jackson, MS; six grandchildren; several great grandchildren and a special friend, Alma Prater of Marianna Funeral services were held Friday, April 23, at 11 a. m., at Pilgrim M. B. Church in Marianna with Rev. S. L. George officiating. Burial followed at Paradise Gardens in Edmondson, AR. Pallbearers were Calvin Jones, Jessie Garrett, Freddie Hill, James Bradley, Roy Cooper and Ureal Lucky. Honorary pallbearers were Deacons of the Pilgrim Church. Arrangements were handled by Marianna Funeral Home.
