Aubrey James Jones, age 80, of Palestine, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 1999. He was born
May 9, 1919, near Gill and was the son of William and Leah Jones. He was a
retired farmer, a WWII veteran and a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian
Church in Palestine. He was a member of the St. Francis Farmer Cooperative. He
is survived by his wife, Audrey Mae Howton Jones of Palestine; three daughters,
Diana Susan Woerner of Glen Ellyn, Ill., Barbara Leah Holcombe of Manhattan,
Kan. and Lisa Marie Black of Little Rock; a sister, Catherine Singer and six
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl Jones, Lawrence
Jones and Homer Jones. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, at
10 a. m. at Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Palestine. Graveside services will
follow at Mars Hill Cemetery in Gill. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Dec. 7,
1999, from 5 p. m. until 7 p. m. at Stevens Funeral Home in Forrest City.
