Woodrow Turner Jones, age 85, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1999, at
his home. He was born Nov. 24, 1913, in Salem and was the son of Augustus Levi
Jones and Louella Cross Jones. He lived in the Salem Community until moving to
Forrest City in 1984. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Salem
Methodist Church. He married Estelle Kyzer in 1932, and she preceded him in
death in 1987, along with a daughter, Nadine Jones, who died in 1942. He later
married Dollie Coffman Warren and she preceded him in death in 1996. He is
survived by one daughter, Sybil May of Forrest City; two sons, Alton W. Jones of
Forrest City and Wendell K. Jones of Salem; one step-son, Larry "Buddy" Warren
of Little Rock; two step-daughters, Melba Langham of West Memphis and Glenda
Self of Nederland, Texas; nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, one great
great grandchild; 13 step grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren, and one
step great-great grandchild. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999,
from 6 p. m. until 9 p. m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be
held Thursday, Oct. 14, 1999, at 2 p. m. at Salem Methodist Church with Rev.
Greg Hoskins officiating assisted by Rev. Kavan Dodson. Burial will follow in
Salem Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
