All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** WWII-BRONZE STAR-PURPLE HEART LEWELLEN ROY CORNELIUS SR. 6/30/1923-11/24/1999 DANSBY Roy Cornelious "Sebo" Lewellen, Sr., 76, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999, at Crestpark Retirement Inn. Mr. Lewellen was born June 30, 1923, to Jesse and Cornelious Malone-Lewellen. He was a veteran of World War II receiving the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He was also a member of United Christian Missionary Baptist Church in Forrest City. He is survived by his wife, Ethel Brewer Lewellen; two sons, Sen. Roy Lewellen, Jr., of Marianna and Rev. Anthony Lewellen of St. Louis, Mo.; three daughters, Ernestene Lewellen Qualls of Chicago, Ill., Annette Lewellen of Little Rock and Marvie Kay Lewellen of Marianna; two step-children, William Ingram and Annette Ingram, both of Fort Wayne Ind.; six sisters, Ruby Watkins, Mereva Fulcher and Garnett Crockett, all of Los Angeles, Calif., Mable Hargraves of Forrest City, Violet Rispon of Detroit, Mich., and Anne Lewis of Stone Mountain, Ga.; two brothers, Rev. Herman Lewellen of Jonesboro and Rep. John Lewellen of Little Rock; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation was held today, Tuesday, Nov. 30, from 12 to 5 at the Marianna Funeral Home. Services will be Wednesday, Dec. 1, at United Christian Church in Forrest City with Rev. Anthony Lewellen officiating. Burial will follow at Dansby Cemetery under the direction of Marianna Funeral Home.
