Kattie Mays, age 88, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999, at her
home. She was born Dec. 5, 1910, to Green and Luberta Jackson in Mississippi,
and was a homemaker. She is survived by two sons, Herman Mays of Peoria, Ill.,
and Johnny Mays of Forrest City; four daughters, Beatrice Williams of Madison,
Eddie Veasley, Dicie Tobar, and Corine Williams, all of Forrest City; three
sisters, Martha Lucas and Modie Pigee of Freeport, Ill., and Endia Williams of
Flint, Mich.; one brother, Armsted Jackson of Freeport, Mich.; 73 grandchildren,
113 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be
from 10: 30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 1, 1999, at Clay Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999, at United Christian
MB Church with Rev. John Lockhart officiating. Burial will follow at Casteel
Cemetery with Clay Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
