"Dutch" Meredith, 74, of Forrest City, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. Mr. Meredith was born June 19, 1925, in Tyronza and was the son of Leonard Meredith and Eula McClroy Meredith. He lived in Forrest City for the past 40 years, was a member of the First United Methodist Church, was retired from State Farm Insurance, was a veteran of World War II, a member of Kiwanis, was a Mason, was a past school board member, a member of the Moose Lodge, a member of the Forrest City Country Club and was an honorary Colonel of the Arkansas State Police. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rheba Binns in 1987. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Meredith VanVranken of Shreveport, La.; two sons, Dr. James T. Meredith, Jr. and Mark Meredith, both of Forrest City and five grandchildren. Visitation was Sunday, Dec. 5, at Stevens Funeral Home. Services were held today Dec. 6 1999, at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church.
