Reece L. "R. L. " Parrish, 74, of Haynes, died Friday, Dec. 10, 1999, at the VA
Hospital in Memphis. Mr. Parrish was born Aug. 9, 1925, to Herbert Parrish and
Ophie Phillips Parrish. He was a retired carpenter and a Baptist. He was
preceded in death by his wife Blanch Irene Parrish in 1993. He is survived by
three sons, James Reece Parrish of Texas, Glen Dale Parrish of Florida and Troy
Parrish of Marianna; two daughters, Ophie Brady of Texas and Joy Fay Nix of
Haynes; three brothers, Herbert Parrish of South Carolina, Joe Parrish of
Marianna and Billy Parrish of Oklahoma; three sisters, Janice Bryant of Wynne,
Shirley Conner of Oklahoma and Inez Presley of Haynes; 14 grandchildren and 21
great-grandchildren. Funeral Services were today at 1 p.m. at Morgan Chapel with
Bro. Bud Davis officiating. Burial followed at Hughes Cemetery under the
direction of Morgan Funeral Home.
