Charles A. Pettus, age 94, of Russellville, formerly of Forrest City, died
Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999. He was born Sept. 15, 1905, in Forrest City and was the
son of S. L. Pettus and Martha Lilly Pettus. He was a retired water well
driller. He was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church in Russellville. He
is survived by two sons, Charles Vance Pettus of Arizona and Bro. Larry Pettus
of Russellville; three sisters, Polly Jones and Lillie Pettus, both of Forrest
City and Margaret Petty of Little Rock; seven grandchildren and nine great
grandchildren. Visitation will be held Monday, Oct. 11, 1999, from 6 p.m. until
8 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held Tuesday,
Oct. 12, 1999, at 10 a.m. at Good Hope Baptist Church with his son, Bro. Larry
Pettus officiating. Burial will follow in Hughes Cemetery under the direction of
Morgan Funeral Home.
