F. (Buck) Whitten, 81, a former South Arkansas resident, died Thursday Morning in a Knox City, Tex. hospital after a lengthy illness. A native of Nevada County, he was the son of William Riley and Nora Hill Whitten. He had lived in Knox City for many years, and was a retired cotton farmer and rancher. Survivors include his widow; two sons, and three daughters, all of Texas; three brothers, Ellis A. Whitten, 507 E. Hillsboro, El Dorado; Alex Whitten of Bagwell, Tex. and Amon Whitten of Hope; and three sisters, Mrs. Laura Hunter of Prescott, Mrs. Lillie Moon of Texarkana, and Mrs. Belle Snelson of Knox City. Mrs. Fred White, 1216 W. First St., is his niece. Funeral services will be held Saturday in Knox City. Mr. and Mrs. Whitten will leave Friday morning to join other relatives enroute to Knox City.
