John Reding etal to Robert Reding

Reding    This Indenture made this 6th day of Novem
  to          ber one thousand Eighteen hundred & forty Seven
Reding   Between Nancy Reding Widow of Jno Reding Decd
               John Reding, John Ray & wife Elizabeth & David
Reding & Mary Reding of Tennessee & John Reding as
attorney for May Reding, John Reding, Nancy
Reding, John Ray & Elizabeth his wife & Stephen
Reding of Arkansas & David Reding of Tennessee & the
rest of Orange County North Carolina of the first
part and Robert Reding of the Second part
Witnesseth, that the above named in the first part
hath in for the Sum of One hundred & fifty five Dollars
to us in hand paid, the recpt whereof we acknowledged
Have bargained, Sold, aleined Conveyed and by these
presents do Convey unto the said Robert Reding of the
Second part his heirs & assigns a Certain tract or par
cel of Land in the above named County of Orange, Boun
ded as follows Begining at a Post Oak, then runing
North twenty One chains & twenty five links to a Black
Oak, then West twenty chains & twelve & a half links
to a Stake on Catherine Rays line, then South twenty
one chains & twenty five links to a post oak, then
East with E A Rays line twenty chains & twelve & a
half links to the begining Containing forty two
acres more or less To have & to hold the aforesaid Land
& premises with their appurtenances unto the Said Robert
Reding his heirs & assigns forever, Binding ourselves
to Warrant & defend the said tract or parcel of Land
unto the Said Robert Reding his heirs Exrs or Admrs
free from all claim or claims of all person or person what
soever   In testimony whereof we have set our hands
& seals this day & date above written

     Personally appeared before me J S Bailey
one of the Judges of the Superior Courts of Law & Equity
for the State aforesaid the before named Elizabeth Ray
wife of John Ray who acknowledged that she Executed
the foregoing instrument of writing as her act & Deed
for the purposes therein mentioned, and the Said Elizabeth
being then privatly examined by me, separate & apart
from her said husband acknowledged that she
executed the same freely & voluntarily & without
any compulsion, threats or undue influence on the
part of her said husband, Let it be registered
as to her this 26th day of November 1847

     The Execution of the within Deed
was duly proved in Open Court by the 
Oath of John S Woods a Subscribing witness
thereto and Ordered to be registered with the
accompanying certificate
