Washington County, AR-Gollahar-Peerson Cemetery Submitted by Kenneth Dunlap-k.e.dunlap@att.net ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gollahar-Peerson Cemetery The Gollahar-Peerson Cemetery has been copied from the "Flashback" Bol. VIII, No. 5, September 1958 with the permission of the Washington County Historical Society. This small cemetery is located in the SW quarter of Sec. 29, Twp. 16, Range 30, about 3 miles southwest of Fayetteville, and about 1/2 miles east of the Old Wire Road, on a farm now owned by E.E. Anglin. The identifiable graves are as follows: CARTER, James G. October 3, 1869-June 10 1883 or 1893 GOLLAHAR, Henry** October 5, 1814-September 24, 1878 GOLLAHAR, Lafayette January 24, 1856-April 5, 1888 GOLLAHAR, Wesley Nobember 8, 1861-October 17, 1897 PEERSON, Andrew Jackson March 28, 1852-August 12, 1853 PEERSON, Easter October 10, 1818-June 21, 1896 PEERSON, Anna April 18, 1861-December 12, 1897 PEERSON, John A.* December 10, 1845-October 22, 1882 A small number of other graves are marked by only plain flag-stones. Other graves are unmarked. *John A. PEERSON once owned a large farm near Greenland. He married Miss Lucinda Tennessee Gilliland, member of the well known Gilliland family. Their children were Paris, Powell, George, Robert and Laura Peerson. After the death of her husband in 1882, Mrs. Peerson married Alexander Parker in 1885. Their children were Clara and Clarence Parker (twins) and Homer and Virgil Parker (also twins). **Henry GOLLAHAR was the great-grandfather of County Judge Bruce Crider, and Lafayetter was Mr. Crider's grandfather. One member of the Peerson family, E.P.
