It is a clipping from a newspaper and I have to assume it is from Fayetteville. He died at the age of 76 on Oct. 3, 1942 in his home at 603 N.Gregg Street. He was buried in Evergreen Cemetery. It said he was a retired lumberman. I was recently in Fayetteville for an English conference at the university and tried to locate the house mentioned in the obituary. I finally found it near the railroad tracks all overgrown with weeds/debris, but it matched the photo I have of it. I also have a clipping from the newspaper of him and his buddies playing pitch outdoors. It said, F.W. Karsten and Buddies Play Pitch. The photo was part of a series called, "What's Your Hobby" by Lessie Stringfellow Read. He had a daughter named Ruth Banks who operated a motel/restaurant there in the 50s and I am trying to locate where it was. I remember going there as a child. Thank you, Carol Bluethman ************************************************************************
