Myrtle Byrd, 72, of Fayetteville died Jan. 29 at a Fayetteville hospital.
She was born Oct. 30, 1913, in West Fork, the daughter of Nathan Carl and
Sarah Ann Fitts Rieff.  She was a homemaker and a lifetime resident of the
area.
Survivors include her husband, Dane Byrd of the home; two sons, Harold Byrd
of Fayetteville and Jarold Byrd of Paramount, Calif.; a daughter, Betty
Bennett of Newport Beach, Calif.; a sister, Maybelle Vance of Bakersfield,
Calif.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Nelson Furneral Home of
Fayetteville with the Rev. Sam Witt officiating.  Burial will be in
National Cemetery.
