All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************** Morning News of Northwest Arkansas February 2, 1998 SPRINGDALE – Virgie Mae Jeter Chastain, 88, of Springdale died Jan. 31, 1998, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. She was born July 20, 1909, at Altus, Okla., to William T. and Sarah Brooks Lackey. She was a self-employed interior decorator and was a member of the Robinson Avenue Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Earl Jeter and Robert Chastain; one son; two brothers; four sisters. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Earlene Howard and Roy E. of Springdale and Mary Beth Clem and Bob (Cotton) of Fayetteville; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale, with Dub DeLoach officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Comfort Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the OJRA Bill Jeter Memorial Scholarship Fund, First National Bank, P.O. Drawer 249, Springdale, or to the Robinson Avenue Church of Christ building fund, 1506 West Robinson Ave., Springdale.
