All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** Morning News June 11, 2009 GENTRY — Gene Davis, 86, of Gentry died June 9, 2009, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born March 26, 1923, in Hindsville to Daniel Eli and Maude Elizabeth Gosvenor Davis. He was a farmer, a salesman, a property manager and a preacher. He was a member of the Civitan Club, served on the Board of Platt Valley Bible College in Scottsbluff, Neb., was an elder at First Christian Church in Gentry. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dianne Dickie. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Meinginger, whom he married Feb. 14, 1945; a daughter, Elaine Wisdom and husband Eric of Manhattan, Kan.; nine grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; a sister, Madge Whittemore of Huntsville. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Christian Church in Gentry, with David Pape officiating. Burial will follow in Colbaugh Cemetery at Hindsville.
