Washington Telegraph Wed Dec 17, 1862 pg 2

   The Fort Smit Bulletin says not a day passes
but we hear of murders and outrages perpetrated
by the tories of our State upon unoffensive,
non combatants. Only a day or two ago, an old
man named Aaron Hughes living near Fayetteville,
was murdered in cold blood, by those white Pins.
