Died at her home, near Elm Springs, in Washington county, February 1, 1878, Mrs. Elizabeth [Dawson] Jack, wife of Abram Jack, Esq. Mrs. Jack was born in North Carolina, December 17, 1805. She moved to [Greene County] Tennessee, where she raised a family of ten children. From there she came to Arkansas. She professed religion in early life, and attached herself to the Methodist Episcopal Church and lived and died a consistent christian. She had been afflicted for sixteen years, and bore her sufferings with christian fortitude, feeling well assured that her sufferings would soon be over. She leaves seven children a husband and a circle of connection and friends to mourn the loss of the dear, good mother and wife, and kind a obliging neighbor. She was buried at Mt. Comfort on the 3d instant. -------------------------------------
