January 22, 1986 Emily Ruth Pate, 93, of Rogers died Jan. 21 at St. Mary's-Rogers Memorial Hospital. She was born Feb. 9, 1892, in Talmage, Texas, the daughter of Sanford and Emily Williams Gosnell. She was the leader of the first registered Girl Scout troop in Rogers, an active member of the Women's Study Club and instrumental in the founding of the first public library in Rogers. She was a board member for the Rogers Hough Memorial Library for several years, a member of the First Baptist Church where she had been active in WMU and had lived in Rogers since 1929. She was the widow of Everett W. Pate, who was the former owner and operator of the ROGERS DAILY NEWS. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ruth Garner and Nina Corley of Rogers; a foster son, Joe Hudgens of Urbandale, Iowa; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Rogers with the Rev. Dan J. Rowell officiating . Interment will be in the Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Rogers Hough Memorial Library. -----------------
