WICHITA, Kan. – 

Carrie Belle Velady Pine, 78, of Wichita died Feb. 4, 1998,
in a Wichita hospital. She was born March 14, 1919, in Oklahoma to Chancey
and Nina Walters Henthorne. She was a Baptist and former owner and operator
of Pine Second Hand Store in Springdale. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Ottis Pine Sr., in 1987.
Survivors include three sons, Ottis Pine Jr. of Elkins, Mitchell Pine and
Michael Pine, both of Springdale; three daughters, Evalena Booth of
Fayetteville, Carolyn Johnson of Springdale and Catherine Ensley of
Wichita, Kan.; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-
grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Funeral
Home in Springdale with Norman Burnett officiating. Burial will be in Bluff
Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Dusty Pine, Bill Barnett, Mitchell Pine III, Cassidy
Hampton, Eric Booth, Larry Johnson and Charley Ensley.
