Arrangements are pending at Moore's Chapel of Fayetteville. ---------------------------------- Morning News of Northwest Arkansas February 4, 1998 FAYETTEVILLE – Janet Brooks Basham-Tooker, 78, of Fayetteville died Feb. 2, 1998, at Fayetteville. She was born Sept. 27, 1919, in Hampton. She grew up in the Chesapeake Bay region near Newport News, Va. She received a literary diploma from Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Va. She was a former president of Phi Theta Kappa and had received the Margaret Noffsinger Award, given annually to the most outstanding student. She graduated cum laude with an A.B. degree in psychology from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro. She attended 12 different colleges and universities and had been listed in "Who's Who in American Women," " Who's Who in America," and "Who's Who in Science and Engineering." She was preceded in death by her husbands, Linwood Cecil Basham and Frederick F. Tooker. She moved to Butterfield Trail Village in 1992 from California. Survivors include two brothers, Warren Brooks of Clemmons, N.C., and Lewis Brooks of Burlingame, Calif. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Butterfield Trail Village Convocation Room under the direction of Moore's Chapel of Fayetteville. The Rev. Leslie Belden and the Rev. John F.
