FAYETTEVILLE – 

Marion Powell Tupper, 87, of Fayetteville died Jan. 30,
1998, at Fayetteville City Hospital. She was born June 15, 1910, in
Baltimore, Md., to Alexander III and Delilah Watkins Brookes Powell. She
was a member of St. Timothy Episcopal Church in Catonsville, Md., and was a
retired administrative assistant for the Social Security Administration,
where she helped write the Medicare bill. She was preceded in death by her
husband, George Tupper.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Sherin of Fayetteville, and John Sherin
of Baltimore; one sister, Betty Himes of Santa Barbara, Calif.; 10
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at a later date in Alexandria, Md. Cremation under the
direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville.
