Welty of Gravette died Jan. 31, 1998, at her home. Arrangements will be announced by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers. ----------------- Morning News of Northwest Arkansas February 3, 1998 GRAVETTE – Frances Welty, 95, of Gravette died Jan. 31, 1998. She was born July 10, 1902, in Paris, Mo., to Dora Lee Dooley and William Franklin Kirkland. She attended Northeastern Missouri State Teachers College (now Truman State University) and received a B.S. degree in elementary education in 1947. She was a secretary and a teacher for many years and a former owner and manager of a motel and a trailer court. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Joseph Welty, in 1936; three grandsons. Survivors include one son, Leslie Welty of Gravette; one daughter, Rita Welty Haines of Camdenton, Mo.; one brother, Emmett Kirkland of Payson, Ariz.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Church Alive in Gravette with the Rev. Joe Betz and the Rev. Bill Query officiating. Burial will be in Maysville Cemetery under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice of Springdale.
