Wilkie, 79, of Fayetteville died Saturday in a Fayetteville hospital. Born March 17, 1906, at Westville, Okla., the son of John W. and Lizzie D. Carter Wilkie, he was a retired farmer and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He had moved to the area from Westville, Okla., 17 years ago and was a member of the Black Oak Baptist Church and the Fayetteville American Legion Sheldon-Tucker Post #27. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Brown Wilkie of the home; two step- daughters, Mary Lou Saunders of Colcord, Okla., and Shirley Vilfordi of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Cole L. Wilkie of Marysville, Calif.; a sister, Stella Kirk of Westville, Okla.; seven grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren. Funeral will be at 11 p.m. Tuesday at Moore's Chapel with burial in National Cemetery.
