M.B.JOHNSON DIES FOLLOWING PNEUMONIA Mrs. Sarah Eason Johnson, aged 86 years, six months and three days, passed away t the home of her son, B.R.Johnson, this Monday morning at 2:30 o'clock after a week's illness of pneumonia. Mrs. Johnson was born August 12, 1850 at Brownsville, Tenn. She moved to Arkansas with her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Frank Jones, in 1856. On November 24, 1868 she was married to M.B.Johnson at what is now Ellis Chapel Church. To this union nine children were born. Mrs. Johnson joined the Baptist church when young and joined the Methodist church with her husband after marriage. She was a true, noble Christian, who lived an exemplary life, a devoted wife and mother and was loved by all who knew her. She is survived by four children, Mrs. R.E.Swann of England, Ark; E.H. and B.R.Johnson of Searcy; and Frank Johnson of Conway; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:30 at the home of Mr. & Mrs. B.R.Johnson, conducted by her pastor, Rev. Aubrey G. Walton, and Rev. E.H.Hook, with burial at Riverside cemetery, West Point. Active pall bearers: C.T.Turner, H.K.Wood, J.F.Watkins, S.P.Fuller, V.H.Davis, B.L.Oliver. RESISINGER DEAD Mrs. Robert Johnson, formerly Emelie Reisinger, daughter of the late Rev. Reisinger of the Trinity Luthern church of this city, died at Denver, Colo., yesterday at the age of 32 years. The body will be brought to this city Tuesday and will be taken to the home of her sister, Mrs. Frank L. Natho, 601 Wayne Avenue, where the funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. Elberts of the Trinity Lutheran church, officiating. Interment will be made in Springhill cemetery. Mrs. Johnson leaves a husband and two small daughers, a brother, Fred Reisinger of Memphis, Tenn. and four sisters, Mrs. Louise Ritter, Chicago; Mrs. Chas. He was a farmer. He was Pastor at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, near McCrory, and Mt. Calvary Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Dona Blyeth Ellis, his mother, Mrs. Annie Ellis of Higginson; three sons, Woodrow Ellis of St. Louis, Mo., Alvis (Jupe) Ellis of Garner and Claude Ellis of North Ridge, Calif.; three daughters, Dora Vaughan of Kensett, O'Dean Hunter of Searcy and O'Dessa Martin of Kokomo, Ind.; two brothers, Charlie Ellis of Beebe and Luther Ellis of Olton, Texas; one sister, Nora Light, of Higginson, and 11 grandchildren. services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Mt. (Special thanks to Louise Bruce who I'm very proud to call a cousin for this!) __________________________________________________________ FORMER SEARCY BOY KILLED IN ACTION IN GERMANY DIED: FEBRUARY 28, 1945 The Rev. and Mrs R.W. Ellis, of Hornersville, Mo. Formerly of Searcy, have been notified by the War Department that their son, S-Sgt. Robert W. Ellis, was killed in action in Germany on February 28. He was in the 13th Infantry, 8th Division of the third Army. The Rev. and Mrs. Ellis had previously recieved the Purple Heart. Sgt. Ellis had been in the service since july 14, 1942 and recieved his training at camp Livingston, La., Camp Reynolds, Pa ,. Camp Gordon, Ga., and Camp Sauganash, Ill., before going over seas in March 1944. He had spent most of his life in White County, having been employed at Jacksonville Ordnance Plant before being inducted into the service. He was a member of the Mt. Hebron Missionary Baptist Church at Joy. He is survived by two brothers, Cpl. Alvis J. (Jupe) with the 9th Army in Germany, and Claude S. S. 2C, somewhere in the South Pacific. H.M. Dugger and Rev. Walter Maddox. Mrs. Velma Canfield provided piano music. Dalton Clay directed the chior which sang, " I'll Fly Away" and " I'll Meet You In The Morning". Palbearers were Tom Reaves, Harlon Langley, Brady Langley, Buster Thomas, Everette Vaughan and D.W. Grady. Burial was at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery by Daniel. She was the widow of Rev. He was a retired truck driver. He is survived by two sons, Loren Stevenson of Fontana, California and Douglas Stevenson of Hammond, La.; two foster sons, Randy and Chuck Lee of Baker, Mont.; two brothers, Harvey Stevenson of Beebe and Franklin Stevenson of Searcy; three sisters, Dorothy Sanders of McRae, Ruby McKinney of Mount Vernon and Frances Claypool of Beebe. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Dearing and Gertrude Thompson and two brothers, James and William "Buddy" Stevenson. Graveside services were held July 7 at Concord Cemetery in Lonoke.
