EUGENE C. NAEGLE History of Arizona page 506 Eugene C. Naegle, who has served several years as Clerk of the Superior Court of apache County, is a gentleman of ability and character and is performing the duties of his position in a manner that is greatly satisfactory. He was born in Concho, Apache County, on April 1, 1894 and is a son of Casper C. and Helena Naegle. His father, who is deceased, was for many years engaged in farming and the cattle business in this county, was successful in his affairs and was uniformly respected. Eugene C. Naegle attended the public schools of Concho and St. Johns Academy, and in 1916 engaged in the cattle business on his own account. In 1917 he enlisted in the One Hundred and Fifty Eighth Regiment U.S. Infantry, Fortieth Division. He was ordered overseas on August 11, 1918, saw active service in France and was mustered out with the rank of Wagoner on July 31, 1919. He then resumed his former interests as a farmer and cattle man to which he devoted his attention until 1921 when he established a meat market in St. Johns. In 1926 he was elected to the office of Clerk of the Superior Court of Apache County, which he is still filling. On August 10, 1920, he married Cubah Judd of Alpine Arizona and they are the parents of four children, Wilma, Eugene C., Jr., Judd C. and Casper C.
